1. Hi Mac Support York, the hardrive of my macbook pro just failed. i bought a new hardrive but , to be honest, it looks extremely complicated to change the hard drive opn my computer.how much would it cost to swap my damaged hard drive with the new hard drive i bought.regards, details of my computer : MacBook Pro 15″, Model Identifier: MacBookPro1,1, Processor Name: Intel Core Duo,Processor : 2.16 GHz, Number Of Processors: 1, Number Of Cores: 2, L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB, Memory: 2 GB, Bus Speed: 667 MHz, Boot ROM Version: MBP11.0055.B08

2. My mac recently has been having (after online research) kernel panics and as soon as i switch it on, it says it needs to be switched off.
I admit the ibook is getting quite old and the battery doesn’t hold any charge and the cable plays up and cuts out charing. so i will need to get these replaced. It may be old but its my ibook and i use it a lot, just now its working as an expensive paper weight!
How much would it be to get the panics investigated? and fixed? Thanks Mac Repair York!

3. Hi Mac Repairs York, I have a G5 (hard drive tower) and it does not seem to start up. The little white light above the on button flashes frequently and there is no signal on the screen detected. I have tried the apple + alt + p + r also the shift whilst holding down the power button unitl i hear a “dong” twice, but I only hear this noise once and there is no response. The keyboard works but the mouse has no sensitivity. I had used the G5 perfectly fine last week, but for some reason now, it is just not starting up.

4. I have a 3/4 year old macbook pro. I’ve recently replaced the battery with a non-apple one as my last battery died, however I don’t believe this is impacting the problem. My mac has become more and more temperamental trying to wake it from sleep. Sometimes I’ve had to hold down the power button to reset it, and this was the only way to wake it again. Last night it wouldn’t restart first time. I had to hold the power button over and over. The fans turns on, and i have the flashing white light at the front, but I have nothing on my screen, and no response from the keyboard.
Can you please give me a call to see whether this is something you think you can fix and how much it would be? I understand the mac is getting a bit old, so need to work out whether it’s worth trying to repair.

5. Have a G5 1.8 operating on 10.4.11 – it keeps switching off and is hard to ‘wake-up’ after putting on sleep mode (and noisy whirring fans). Have been advised this is likely to be leaking capacitors – common problem with these iMacs. What are your costs for replacement?
6. Hi there – this may sound daft but i’m trying to hook my Macbook upto my Samsung tv. I’ve got a mini-HDVI to DVI out of the Mac into the tv via an HDMI. It all fits but for some reason it is only displaying my desktop picture from the Mac on my tv (no icons or desktop set up). I’ve been on a Mac forum who suggest I reset my PRAM – but still nothing!

7. Hi guys, hope you’re all well.
I’ve got a bit of an issue with my right fan on a late 2007 MacBook Pro 15″. It doesn’t want to spin up sometimes and puts the CPU at a bit of a risk – sometimes right in the middle of a set or while video editing! Not good. Upshot of it is is that I think I may have a loose connection and would like for you guys to have a tinker. Clean a few points, maybe run a meter over the components to check if anything needs replacing?
If you could book me an appointment to come by and explain further? That would be grand.

8. Hello I am just enquiring as to whether you purchase old computers? I am looking to sell my old Apple eMac and was wondering if this would be something you would be interested in purchasing. It is an eMac G4 1.25GHz 256/40/Combo complete with keyboard, mouse, instructions and original box. There is a fault with it however that means it would need to be re-furbed or sold/used as parts. And the hardrive will also be removed before sale for security reasons. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested or have any further questions.
