1. I am using Parallels 5 to run Windows at the same with Mac OS. Windows crushed yesterday and does not allow me to recover my files from the desktop. Every boot the blue screen of death appears and neither normal nor safe mode work. All I need is either to start up the windows or just access the desktop? Many thanks.
2. Hi, Have a big problem. My laptop (about 5 years old) is not switching on at all, nor is it responding to the charger. The internal battery has been dead for a while, so I have been relying on the charger, which I replaced just December 2008. Is there any hope to restore it, so I should just get a new one all together? Could someone call me from Mac Repair York today?
3. My Powerbook G4 screen is bust – the screen shows nothing other than a bluish blur. The computer works fine when attached to a monitor; the problem seems to lie solely with the screen (I think its the 15″ size). Is it possible for you to fit a replacement screen and if so, how much would it cost for this job?
4. Hi Mac Repair York!, I have had my macbook for about 3 years. Recently I came to wipe the hard drive and install snow leopard fresh and it no longer starts up. However, one time it did start up and the wireless card was not detected. I believe this may be the problem as when WiFi was on before the fresh installation the computer took extraordinary amounts of time to load really simple tasks. The spinwheel would take over for about 10 seconds at least every minute or so. There is also some superficial damage to the case which I would like to be fixed too. Do you offer a free quote on the repair price once an engineer has looked at it to confirm I have not got it wrong?
5. My daughters macbook wont charge! The icon for battery is grey and in the panel under battery it says battery not charging in pale gray. Works fine from mains but shuts down as soon as mains lead – green light on – removed. Any ideas? Is it likely to need new battery – macbook now 2 years old?
6. My Macbook has been broke for the past few months, the screen isnt going on, but you can see the icons on screen if you look closely enough when it is turned on. The Mac store says i would have to replace the screen, they were too costly so i decided to do it myself, i bought a screen online and replaced it, switched it back on and it made no difference, you could still see the icons when it was turned on, this has led me to believe they gave me the wrong advice and it sin’t the screen, possibly the cable which runs from the screen to the motherboard?
I have also managed to misplace the screws when i took the macbook apart so its lying in a heap somewhere, could you replace the screws if i dealt with you? The store said it could have been one or two problems the screen or the cable, then they said it was the screen. How much would you charge to fix it? Thanks Mac Repair York.
7. I have a white Macbook from 2008. It fell down and the screen has to be replaced. The computer itself is working. I would be interested in getting it fixed as soon as possbile next week. What would the approximate cost be?
8. I’ve just bought a copy of Snow Leopard from Amazon but have found out that there are possible issues with simply upgrading and that a clean install is the wise option. There doesn’t appear to be an “erase and install” option on the disk. I know I could possibly use Disk Utility to wipe the drive but I’m not quite sure how to go about it, or to roll back if it all goes pear shaped. Can you help and, if you’ll pardon the question, how much would it cost?

on googling around it sounds like this ? If so is this likely to be massively expensive?! I dont think its a power cable issue as the cable works on this powerbook G4
10. I have a macbookg4 , i was intending to buy a new battery and charger when i noticed the pin on the ac adaptor has snapped in the machine causing my battery to discharge in under an hour and its very hit and miss if it charges at all.
Can this be repaired and if so how much ? if it is not too expensive it would be great to replace the CD drive with a DVD superdrive.
Can you give me a price for both.?
11. I have a white macbook which has been running slow so I installed the latest OS X firmware update realeased a few days ago and now my Mac wont boot up. I get the usual loading screen with the apple logo and also get the bong sound but then the computer restarts.
12 .I have a G5 Ambient Light Sensor iMac which won’t boot up after locking up yesterday. When powered on the screen doesn’t come on but the sleep light does, it doesn’t make a start up chime, nothing happens until about 3 minutes when the fans come on full power. The disc drive doesn’t accept a CD so a can’t try booting from that. I’ve reset the SMU and taken the back off the unit the first LED is lit when power is applied and the second lights when the power button is pressed, LEDs three and four don’t light.
